**Urchfont Scarecrow Weekend**

This coming May Bank Holiday come on down to our local village of Urchfont and take part in the famous Scarecrow Trail! Take a stroll around this picturesque Wiltshire village and see if you can find the scarecrows and guess who they are dressed as. Competition is fierce and you may get distracted by the tasty refreshmants available, but it runs over the three days of the Bank Holiday weekend so you have plenty of time to get your completed competition forms in! A perfect day out for all the family, round it off by a visit to our shop The Inner Yard, which is just up the road in the next village of Lydeway. Just follow the signs for Planks Farm Shop, we are open all weekend, Saturday 9.30-5pm and Sunday and Monday 10-4.

Situated at The Old Potato Yard in a beautiful setting just outside Devizes, The Inner Yard was set up by myself and two friends who were looking for new premises for their businesses, and we spotted the opportunity one day when having a coffee across the yard.

Our vision has transformed an unused dairy into a contemporary showroom offering a wide range of furniture, homewares and gifts. With an ever changing assortment that ranges from antique painted furniture to modern handmade jewellery, from retro kitchen accessories to delicious organic chocolate, and from antique garden tools to natural gardener's hand cream there is plenty to satisfy any shopping urge!

The Old Potato Yard is exactly what it says - an old potato yard! In fact potatoes are still grown on the farm but over the last few years the yard has been transformed into a picturesque shopping site - an ideal venue for a day trip in the country. Alternatively, with ample free parking on site, its an easy place to pop into for those last minute gifts or an emergency supper!

The newly opened Plank's Farm Shop sells potatoes of course, together with a large range of locally produced meat, vegetables & dairy produce. In addition you can buy home cooked cakes, ready meals, soups and quiches which are cooked in the adjoining kitchen.
